Censoring of Profiles

Answers to questions

Hi everyone.

ticktackboy came up with a great idea! We will add a "This is a adult photo" flag that the chatters must click "on" when they upload nude or otherwise adult photos. That way we can restrict anyone under the age of 16 to see it, even in logbook messages or profiles. And it will not help if they link to others photos, they would still not be able to see it. Thanks for that one ticktackboy :-)

xxpoohxx I must admit that I dont know where the border goes on nipples and stuff. The best way would be to pick a set of 50 photos in the nude/hardcore spectra and then decide what we will and will not accept in the adult albums. Perhaps we could even do a special navigator training exam where we train the photo team in what restrictions they should put on.

mmjustcooking I changed some places to make the photoalbum more user friendly. When we are finished I will post it and ask you all some questions about if you understand it or not.

loluss I dont think it is fun to upload photos to a album if you wont show them to anyone :-)

Phill yes we will make censor of profiles as well, check the next section about profiles. And I think everyone will get ratings on their photos, because it will give rank to rate others :-)

NAVIGATOR RIGHTS IN PROFILES

What functions should navigators have in the profiles?

I have been brainstorming a bit here, but I would like to get your input as well.

Navis should be able to censor a profile for a given user

- The user will recieve a ships mail that he needs to change his profile and remove inapropiate content

- When other users see the profile, it will have a censor sign over the text

- Once the user submits his profile it must be reaproved by a navigator before it will be visable to the public again

Navis should be able to put a "Always approve" on a profile for a given user :

- Every time the user changes the profile, it will need to be approved by a navigator before it will be visable to the public

Navis should be able to freeze a profile for a given user so he cant :

- Delete or Edit it

Navigators should have an option to unlock a users profile

- To see all data that this user might have in his profile

- Edit or Remove sections from a users profile if he dosnt do it himself

What do you all think? Did I miss anything?

  • Another thing I forgot to mention in my e-mail Torben is I think Navigators should also be able to change what's in the information section on a profile or at least hide it. At the moment, we can only hide the "Own Comments" and "Picure."

Sometimes we come up against profiles where they have put swearing in their "MSN" or "REL NAME" field and that section cannot be hidden.

An option to censor that too would be great :)

  • Torben are you meaning for navigators to approve all of a chatters profile before it becomes viewable or just the pics?

I like the idea of being able to unlock a profile to edit it, but also worried as this will lead to chatters becoming lazy and not bothering to edit their profiles because the navi will do it for them.
I think its still best to chase the chatter and talk them into changing whats wrong with their profile. That way they know its not acceptable. As per now, if they dont change it then it stays censored until they do. No loss to us, only them.
dj-slim, profile censors have been hiding all of the profile, including personal info for ages now lol

  • I will try to explain ^^ I am sorry but i cannot speak english very well ehehe.
So, when a navigator censures a profile he writes in the reason (for example)
---> you must delete THAT pic (explaing what pic)
---> you must edit THAT commentes (explaining what comments)
Then, the chatter goes to talk to a navigator. The navigator has a look to the profile again and then he deletes the censoring. But... has the chatter deleted or edited all things the navigator meant? It's uncomfortable to write in the message of censors the url of the photo or to copy the comments! Isn't it? Often the navigator, who removes the censor, doesn't understand very well what the navigator, who has done it, intended. So, maybe the navigator, who censores, might underline the text or put a simble on the photo... no? In the reasons we write
---> delete what's underline in your profile (this is not an erotic chat bla bla bla la :D - when you will have done it ask to a navigator to rehabilitate your profile! bla bla bla)
The chatter really knows what he must edit!

Another thing... in this chat there will be the bridge? Assistents, navigators III and II can't censor the profile! So why don't you put on the bridge a section where chatters can ask the rehabilitation? is it stupid?
Obviously in the message of censor navigator will write about this section on the bridge!! Or in the shipmail that the chatter will receive you put an automatic link to this sectione (Navigator's reason and then --> only when you will have done all these things go to the special section on the bride and ask to rehabilitate you the profile. You can also click HERE.) Something like the system of assistance on the bride.
For me this is faster and easier...

I hope you all understand me :( my english is not perfect but maybe the idea is clear ^_^ byeeee

  • I'd like to make a comment about the idea that over 16's being able to see "adult" rated pictures, in the UK adults are from the age of 18. I believe it would be unsuitable for under 18's to be able to view "adult" rated pictures.
